This article examines the ability of generative language models to reproduce an architect’s logic at the conceptual stage of designing glued timber structures. Within a retrospective verification framework, the realized project – the guest house of the Pirogovo resort (T.B. Kuzembaev’s workshop, 2003) – is compared with a generated result produced from a formal technical brief. The historical review shows that, in the precedents considered, the computational tool executed a rule formulated by an architect or engineer, but did not invent it. The experiment demonstrates that the generative model reliably handles analytical and organizational tasks, but does not produce an architectural statement comparable in expressiveness to the real building. The results clarify the limits of generative AI in conceptual architectural design.
