At present, the Kazan agglomeration is developing as a monocentric urban system, resulting in an uneven distribution of infrastructure facilities, an insufficient number of jobs in the districts surrounding the urban core, and transport and communication infrastructure that fails to expand at a pace sufficient to meet the needs of the population. The aim of this study is to identify promising directions for the development of the Kazan agglomeration and to determine its urban growth points. The research is based on a comprehensive urban planning analysis of the territory, a SWOT analysis, and the application of the author's methodology for identifying urban growth points. The study included a comprehensive analysis of the Kazan agglomeration, identified the main principles of its development and its urban growth points, formulated recommendations for their development, and developed a spatial development model for the Kazan agglomeration.
